A game of two halves – 0-4 and ONE NIL!! A SLUSHY first half followed by a triumphant second.

Perhaps we were mind FROZEN by the ICY pitch – didn’t start out so well with the opposition scoring a misunderstood goal and a short that had a FROSTY reception from us when it was announced and perhaps shouldn’t have been. Third and fourth goals to them were good teamwork and movement from the opposition.

But now about us! In the second half we got our SKATES on and..GOAL! Doc hit the ball to midfield who did some SPARKLING one twos to get the ball to Dudley who was poised on the post and SLID it in. GOOOAAAL! And the rest of the match? Cherry with some strong tackles (like a wall she was! Despite the alcohol perhaps in the system?), Gaynor equally strong minus the alcohol, Tina pulling some magic saves. Nat getting some great interceptions in and chasing them down. Doc sending balls flying to the forwards (so fast I can’t see the ball personally) Joey working like a trooper in the middle and getting the ball up the field, with Emma and Coolio with some lovely passing play which FLOE’d through their defence, supporting and linking well all together. Kate our on pitch captain using her skills to bypass their midfield to get it to Abby, who braved it out and did some great runs down the icey side (and not distracted by thoughts of her date later, or Henry..!), Jude also some great runs down the right, Daisy and Dudley poised waiting for the deflection from them. Becca obviously great support from the sidelines and disappointingly not sent off.. maybe next time?!
