On a grey February morning the Watersiders walked on pitch not quite feelin’ it. So to remedy this, our stand-in Captain Emma did a Marvellous job at keeping spirits high, with the suggestion that if we won, she may come on tour with us!
As the match kicked off we realised that the 1st division umpire for the other team was actually rather good and with players not in their usual positions, the ‘siders had to think quick on their feet to keep possession. After some brilliant passing between Katie, Becca and Joey in the midfield, we managed to score our first goal.

The first half of the match continued with some great passing between Jude, Silky and the forwards, and Daisy – who fought to get in some brilliant positions – narrowly missed a second goal. With some building up of possession, we finally managed to get a second goal.

While playing to the whistle, Katie attempted to get a third goal, but it hit one of the opposition in the body, which caused a penalty flick – which Becca aced – and stole another goal from Katie!

When the second half started, Nash decided she wanted a piece of he glory and helped push forward and pressure Haselmere, which can only be described as ‘Nashtastic’ hockey play. However after a brief dip in concentration Haselmere managed to get a Penalty flick, and in true Waterside fashion Tina (the Titan) saved the goal, keeping her sheets clean.

So with a 5-0 win under their belts the Watersiders are well on their way to achieve their 5 year plan!
