It was a chilly Saturday morning which saw the Siders take on Portsmouth and Southsea at home. After an energising warm up, a win inspiring speech from Linda after a few weeks of absence, and a particularly good one, two, three grrrr from Abi, Waterside were ready to dominate. And that they did, scoring a fairly quick and easy two goals against a surprised Portsmouth in the first half with fantastic play from Joey and Katie, making the game look like a play in the park. Unfortunately, Portsmouth didn’t lie down and take it and scored two sneaky goals towards the end of the first half to make it 2-2. All to play for. 

After a half time pep talk Waterside were back on it. With super subbing to the mid field and up front we were kept fresh but Portsmouth were also geared up and relaying on their super player. With Waterside having the majority of the possession in the last quarter and numerous short corners Waterside were seemingly sure of another goal. Unfortunately the Portsmouth goalie was like a super talented giant (to Becca at least) so try as they might, Waterside could not get another one in. The game ended with a draw 2-2.
