And-over the points to Waterside!!

T’was a cold Saturday morning and Nash was slightly bleary eyed after a gruelling night shift. Saving a drunken mans life in a lift and only sleeping for five hours!!With a rousing motivational speech from capitano, Nash was raring to go. From the moment Nash stepped out of the changing room and saw Andover sheltering from the shortest rainfall, she knew they were putty in her hands.

Nash discussed substitution tactics with Nat and decided half on half off was not the best option! The whistle blew. It was a slow start from Waterside, except Nash, who as always, was firing on all full cylinders. Encouraging others, hitting the ball hard and fast, passing the ball accurately to Chezza and Bowen. Just as Nash was reaching her peak, a ball shot high, narrowly missing Byker, hit an Andover player. Down she fell and the game was stopped. Nash had a flashback from her near death experience several years ago. Luckily for the girl, ‘Super paramedic to be’ Chezza wrapped her head and sent her packing!!! – to the hospital. After several substitutions with Nat the game was in Watersides’ hands. Katy hitting two magnificent goals, which started by Nash pushing the ball forward. Then Byker thought she was missing out and popped one in too.

After a series of blinding runs, blocking tackles by Nash, Katy thought two wasn’t enough and got a hatrick. (And POM).

The game was over, or so we thought. Just as the whistle blew Waterside were awarded a short corner. There was much discussion about the formation but as it was Nashs’ birthday (the day before) Becca passed the ball. This was Nash’s time to show the world how awesome she is, with little training a goal was about to be scored!!! SMASH went the ball and ricochet on the line, in between the defenders legs! So close Nash thought, her moment of glory dashed.

A great team effort ladies, same again next week.

Nash over and out!!
