WATERSIDE LADIES HOCKEY CLUB
”Twas a dank autumnal day in the south, as the Watersiders travelled up to far reaches of the county boarders, where an egar Hasselmere awaited us.
After an enthralling ride, hearing about Magda’s sorry Esther’s holiday we arrived to be greeted by the rest of the team sipping coffee and handing out free shampoo samples. Only one missing… Jude was lost in Liphook.
Hearing Dave our new umpire (everyone loves a Dave) was coming to watch we stopping fannying around, got our shit together and got warming up. The team in total unison stretching across the pitch you could almost smell The oppositions fear.
”Twas a mere ten haunting minutes before Coolio broke the deadlock and jumped highier than a Gazelle, scoring her first goal of the season. In a scrappy encounter Hasselmere drew level smudging Tina sheets. However the ‘Siders were always in control and some mighty fine passes from Becca through a web of players saw Joey in on goal, she rounded the keeper as if she was a zombie only for Abi to steal the goal on the line, like all good strikers should!
A well worked short corner lead to number three and katie wrapped up the scoring with a forth.
No haunting memories for the Watersiders late away match this time, a well earned three points with a 4-1 win!!!
Well done Jo and Becca on joint Pom.
