WATERSIDE LADIES HOCKEY CLUB
Saturday 19th march was a day of firsts. Nash made her first game back after a long and painful injury, Nash was first in the changing room and Nash remembered her shower gear. This was going to be a good day! The game started slowly but soon waterside started to put pressure on aldershot from Nash, gaylesbo and dudders pushing the midfield forward! And suddenly from a well orchestrated move from Nash (she’s still got it) the ball moved rapidly up the pitch via an excellent play by Marsh to Stuart little -GOAL! Waterside were 1-0 up! (Can’t quite remember how it went in, I was sidelined then, and chatting to Rita). “That’s my baby gal” Shazza shouted from the side!!!
Whilst listening to an inspirational team talk from Capt. Coolio Nash lying on the floor stretching, the promoted team was full of spirit and drive for the second half! We knew it was going to be graft but we dug deep. Aldershot kept Nash working hard, even tripped her up and slowly, pathetically dived down on the deck! Play carried on around her much to nashes disgust! Gaylesbo scored!!!! But in the wrong goal, good effort though! This didn’t dampen the spirits of the team. Waterside kept moving the ball up the pitch, especially with the dynamic passes from Nash, Davies and the brilliant marshy (POM). The game sadly ended 1-1. A result that reflected the game but not our spirits! We kept fighting, supporting and praising each other. That’s what makes us the greatest team on the south coast. Oh and having Nash back! Over and out!
