Beaten but not defeated! A determined Waterside 11 took to the pitch for the toughest match of the season. Easter is early this year and we were caught like a bunny in the headlights with Haslemere taking the lead in surprisingly quick time. We regrouped and dug deep. They tried to pin us in our own half but we had a few forays up toward the D ourselves. The half time score was 2-0. 

After a little switcheroo in positions and umpires, and a good team talk at half time the troops rallied for the second half. We kept heads held high and the positivity higher. Despite Haslemere scoring 2 more in the second half it was the Watersiders that gave more effort and we had them on the back foot with several near misses. There we’re great tackles, breaks and short corners but the biggest thing was the 100% effort that we all put in, umpires included. Superb. 

Tina may have soiled sheets but we are still top!
