Hemmed in from behind…

A sunny morning saw Waterside venture out onto home turf with the aim to re-compose ourselves after a shaky game last week and to continue our stint of wins, which has so far seen us dominate the top position in the table.

With a lucky 13 players Waterside confidently struck up some impressive play in the first half. There were numerous attacks from Waterside eventually scoring the first goal was Super Sarah who was having a blinder of a game smashing the ball into the back of the goal. Soon after a well-worked short corner from Cherry, Emma and then Becca, who scored to make it 2-0. The impressive play continued in the first half and with the play spread wide down the pitch a pass from Kate to Marie ended up taking Waterside to 3-0.

At half time we had a positive chat- Coolio being happy with the game play and Becca mentioning something about being hemmed in from behind, not too sure if anyone understood where that was going but anyway… into the second half.

Waterside maintained their structure, however were denied a few more attempts at scoring. The aerial play was impressive, with the oppositions defense having to make some impressive saves on the line twice denying a few more goals to Waterside. Nevertheless a cross to super Sarah impossibly deep in the circle saw another goal fly past the goalkeeper.

Solid umpiring from Coolio and Jo throughout maintained a great game of hockey enjoyed by all.

POM this week was well deserved and went to Sarah 🙂

End Result: Waterside 4-0 Winchester Academy
