WATERSIDE LADIES HOCKEY CLUB
With texts, phone calls, radio announcements and tweeting (down with the kids), the Waterside organisers’ fingers were well and truly on the pulse as the meet time approached… Wind on. Wind off. Ferry on. Ferry off.
The Red Funnel Ferry customer service was not ferry good… Not up to scratch by according to our fellow ferry representitive, Alex Brittany Ferries Weight.
When the ferry time came, the disappointment was ferry tangible when the lady at Red Funnel Ferries informed us that due to the backlog of ferry cancellations, we would not be ferried to the island on our scheduled ferry departure.
Needless to say were ferry f@*ked off about this.
So after a ferry quick master bates (off of captain pug wash) at the registry office, next door to the ferry office, we decided ferry off, game off – although truth be told in true Waterside style, it was not a ferry quick decision.
Alex made the call to the opposition ferry quickly, so quickly that in her haste to take shelter in Gaynor’s car… Or so she thought… Instead almost got on to the lap of a ferry miserable mother of the bride… It was only someone else’s car… Needless to say there was ferry much howling laughter from the rest of the other non ferry travellers.
And so with ferry definately off, we ferried ourselves off to the Dancing Man brewery, opposite the ferry terminal, but it was closing for a private function… We were not having a ferry good day!
Finally, Abi’gail’ showed us the way and we set sail to the beer Keller, where we spent our ferry fare on chips, and and sank a few beer! 10 ferry happy Watersiders… Let the boat races begin!
Whilst we ferry might’ve won, it was the wind that won the day, however it goes without saying that the POM vote would’ve been ferry close!
On a final note (you’ll be pleased to hear) whilst we might lose our place at the top of the table, we’ll just have to take them from behind!
