‘As we know, the Watersiders do not travel well, even for a morning game. So a 4:30 match in the dark, at the Trojans home ground, was going to be a challenge. After a quick run around and warm up the outside of the pitch, the siders were ready to go. In the first 10 minutes, the Trojans kept most of the possession and put pressure on the ‘siders defence. However as soon as the ‘siders got going, we clawed back possession with some very smooth moves down the middle from Becca and Joey as well as some nifty back passes between Cherry, Nat and Gaynor. At half time it was still 0-0, but within minutes the Watersiders had scored. Throughout the second half, there were some fantastic passes between the two shields, and the communication between everyone on and off pitch was excellent. Although, at the start of the match, the Trojans gave Tina heart palpitations, the end result was 1-0 to the siders! Marvellous work ladies, and congratulations to Tina the Titan for getting the honourable Player of the Match for her brilliant and trophy worthy saves! Bring on Haselmere! Grrrr!
