Waterside went out onto the pitch with a positive attitude lead from the front by Cherry . The pre match talk from Linda only adding to the positivity. Southampton only had ten players, but as we know this does not mean a certain win. The work up front  was excellent  from all the forwards resulting in a shot from Marie that crossed the line followed by Abby (Marie claimed the goal). The first half saw Waterside with good possession and attacking play, encouraged on by Linda from the sideline, but still a fair bit of work for defence.

The second half was much more defensive for Waterside with Southampton attacking hard and seeming to have an endless supply of short corners awarded to them. Tina stood firm with some great saves but there were some hairy moments for all in defence!! BUT all shots stayed out! with great work by Esther, Emma, Coolio and Nat. There were a few great breaks for Waterside but no more goals. A huge sigh of relief at the end of the match and a big fat pat on the back for all.

Difficult to call POM but Tina and Cherry share the prize for this week!!
