On home turf once again on a fine Saturday morning Waterside arrived with not just a full team but with subs and no I am not talking about lunch time rolls I am talking about actual real life players.

Moments after the first whistle blew Waterside sprung into action implementing world class set play that tested Fleet and Ewshot’s defense. It was a wonder to behold. With impressive dominance in the first half it didn’t take long for a fantastic pass on the right from Wardle to Stewart to put Waterside one up on the opposition.

With the laminated words of wisdom from Coach Linda etched firmly in the minds of every player more chances came Waterside’s way. However a second goal remained just out of reach before the whistle was blown to mark the end of the first half. Coolio finally had a chance to let off steam after a tense stand off with the umpire narrowly missing a green card.
With the first half over a fantastic job had been done by Waterside’s most esteemed umpire, nevertheless her vision was called into question by what appeared to be a rather confused player from the Southern Hemisphere. Specsavers South Africa will be notified of their possible quality control issues.

Into the second half and unfortunately a break opened up to Fleet and they squeezed a goal through the legs of Watersides top keeper Tina. Waterside pressed on un-deterred with passion ever present in the hearts of every player. Defender Nat returned to the pitch again giving Jo a little freedom to edge her dodgey leg up the pitch to her natural position up front. A move that cemented her crowning of POM.

End Result Waterside Ladies 1-1 Fleet and Ewshot. With thanks to super sub Marge who had to endure a stressful 70 mins of hockey.

Wardle out.
