Well, what a great start to Christmas. Waterside ladies smashing Romsey 4-1! It was a slow start to the game as Romsey accelerated towards the defence and got a sneaky goal within the first ten minutes. Without Nash, the game seemed one-sided but after several substitutions, waterside settled into the game dominating the last 25. Nash playing in the midfield pushed the ball forward and wide to create some amazing opportunities, unfortunately Newmans stick was (wasn’t) at the end of those chances. More substitutions which moved Nash to the top of the diamond (not sure where that is)! Played the ball around the field which changed the tempo of the game.
After a half time team talk and motivational grrrr watersides ladies were pumped up. Versatile Nash was put in as sweeper. After realising we had changed sides, Nash was raring to go. Pushing up the midfield which gave the forwards plenty of goal scoring opportunities. A blinding pass from Nash to Newman, nearly, was the goal of the season! Nash used her skill, intelligence and speed to give other players chances to score the winning goals.

Without Nash, goals from Alex, Sian, Chezza and Jo, wouldn’t of been possible. Nash may not go training but she displayed a master class in hockey today and was in touching distance of the trophy. Player of the match went to Alex for her constant running and blinding goal, all set up by Nash. Well done Alex and a big high five to Nat, who played brilliantly in goal (coached by Nash).

Remember ladies, that maybe our last game of 2013, but the hard work still continues, GET FIT, NOT FAT!!
